Dusk 進一步指出：「還是老樣子，總會有人那樣說。但他們忽略了我一直強調的一點——《生化危機》是一個『終結與開端並存』的作品。這將是里昂的謝幕之作（意指在時間線中作為主角的最後登場，當然他仍可能出現在時間線更早的作品中）。」

此前，《生化危機：安魂曲》導演中西晃史在接受訪問時曾提到，並非所有爆料都正確：「有些是對的，有些一半對一半錯，有些完全錯誤。直到遊戲正式推出前，我們也無法確定這些消息是否會影響開發計劃。」
